BEING RIGHT

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Do you know anyone who has to be right all

the time? No one has to be right all the time.

Every one has the right to  be wrong some of

the time.I always tell my kids that I am wrong

at least once a year.Honestly, we sometimes

caught up in pride or our manhood gets

threatened and just have to be right.

When we question what others say or do we

cut ourselves off from the love and

understanding we would normally get from

that relationship. Our need to be right  far

exceeds our common sense and judgement.

Some folks actually become hostile and selfish.

Please see the difference and learn to allow for

differences. Right or wrong what difference does

it make .Everyone has that right. LET IT GO…..

TURN IT OVER….. or whenever possible, just

AGREE TO DISAGREE. That always helps.

Take this moment, the next minute, the next

hour, and you guessed, it the next 24 hours to

be honest with yourself. Have you ever done

this? Just how important is is to defend being

RIGHT…..until next time…John

DOING

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

What do I mean when I say DOING ?

How many things can you think of or list that

you learn by just Doing ?

Not by reading, and not by seminars, but by

actually DOING. You can not wish it or

dream it you have to actually do it. For

instance, riding a bike…swimming…or

playing a musical instrument of some kind.

What about using a computer.

Once you do it though your mind locks in on

what you did,how you did it ,it then becomes

eaiser .The next time you do it you ar on

auto pilot. Think about this long and hard.Start

using your brain power to lock in good ideas.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Use

this ninute, the next hours and of course the

next 24 hours to put all those  good ideas on

auto pilot. If you feel you can not do something,

try it  because it may just wind up on auto pilot.

Old time Quote..I can’t do it…..Can’t is a coward

stuck in the mud and TRY pulled him out….

Bills…Bills… and Bills

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

In today’s economy many people in this

country are hurting bad because of several

reasons. Some folks  over confident on there

job security when the bought. Others were

taken advantage of by lenders who just saw

dollar signs.

I know what you are thinking,”Who is this guy to

talk.” Well I got caught up in the same sort of

thing  in the recession  of 1984—1986. I put

up my house, some property, and my retirement

stocks ,and jumped into a business. I was way

over collateralized and yes I lost all of it. That

does not make me any smarter nor even any

wiser. Put you chin up high and become focused

and determined to keep going. You may never

recoup what you have lost but you can far

exceed where you were.Life on life’s terms can

be a bummer sometimes but it is up to you to

overcome whatever  comes your way.Start this

very moment, use the next minute, use the next

hour, and the next 24 hours to  get going again.

It’s been said that if you improve 1% each day

you will have improved 365% by the end of the

year, You do the math for each hour…..until

next time……John

Remember….Life would not be any fun at all if

if we did not have any problems to solve, Make

them fun….

QUESTIONS…..?

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

If you do not ask the right questions you

will not get the right answers. I know that

this sounds to simple to be true. It is easy

to ask questions but eaiser to watch T V or

procrastinate.

However when you do ask questions do you

get answers…..any answers at all? When your

you were young  and you ask questions did you

get get answers…..any answers at all?

It  is easy to put kids off. Somehow they program

themselves to  not ask questions. It is either

go play…watch TV…are I will tell you later.Later

seems to never come. Always busy, busy, and

busy, and then my kid needs medication

because he is over active. He is a worry wart and

and ask to many questions.

Lets talk about grown-ups just a little. The boss,

controling spouses, good intentioned friends

and sometimes family members avoid

answering proper questions or any questions

at all simply to feel better about themselves.

Look around you and find someone that will

listen to your questions. It is simply all part of

growth. If you do ask questions and get good

answers you will becone ,green and growing, not

stale and rottenTake this moment…thi minute…

this hour.. and of course the next 24hours to

ask the right questions. You deserve the right

answers. IF YOU DO NOT ASK…YOU WILL

NEVER ANY ANSWER. until next time…John

Heart Felt Memory

Friday, April 17th, 2009

               Fridays Special

What a pleasure to be able to recall memories

like this from my past.At this point in my story

Iwill not mention this extraordinary persons

name, but he did several things over the years

that  made a difference in other peoples lives.

He was uneducated, had worked all his life, yet

he never expected any reward for doing his

good deeds.Just living right and doing the

next thing was reward enough for him.

Well it was in the 1940′s and the war was

rageing in Europe and the western Pacific.

He had tried to enlist in the army but was told

to stay on his job which was telephone

company construction work.Seems he was to

young for WW One and a tad to old for WW Two.

Somestimes the government would call and

place them on military bases to do special

contruction.

I was just a young kid and was at the local

barber shop to get my hair cut. Polio was

everywhere and most of us knew some family

or someone that had been crippled. The

barber was on exception but he had a lot of

grit. He was standing one one crutch trying

to balance himself an cut hair.

This extraordinary person saw this and just

left without saying a word, When he returned

he had a tall adjustiable swevel chair that

telephone operators used to set on just  to

plug in the calls.

Here ,Sir, sit on this and see if it will help. It made

all the difference and worked just fine.

Later that day  the chief opertator ask him,

“What did you do with my chair?”

He answered ,”Well it had a flaw and was broken

so I orderded you another one,it will be here

tomorrow morning.”

Years later I visited the barber and he reminded

me of the day my Father gave him the chair. He

had cut hair for 30 years  sitting on that chair.

What a wonderful 24 hours that was. I can’t

ask for a bettter 24 hours to remember………

one hour is 60 minutes … 12 hours is only

720 mimutes…24 hours is a mere

1440 minutes….Who counts……

until next time….John

Do something good today.

Create a good menory.

Healing

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

The world is not in need a new religion, nor is

the world in need of a new pphilosophy. What

the world needs healing and regeneration. The

world needs people who, through devotion to

God,are so filled with the spirit that they can be

instruments through which healings take place,

because healing is so important to everybody.

I ain’t as well as I want to be but I am better

ACCEPTANCE

Monday, April 13th, 2009

And acceptance is the  answer to all my

problems today. When I am disturbed  it is

because I find some person, place, thing, or

situation—some fact of my life—unacceptable

to me,and I can find no serenityuntil I accept

that person, place, thing, or situation as being

exactly the way it is supposed to be at this

moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing,happens

in God’s world by mistake.Until I could accept

my alcoholism,I could not stay sober: unless I

accept life completely on life’s terms, I cannot

be happy.I need to concentrate no so much on

what needs to be changed in the world as on

what needs to be changed in me and my

attitudes. This paragraph  was copied from a

story on acceptance fron the A A Big Book. It

was copyrighted by The A A Grapevine,Inc.

New 24 Hours

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

It was hard for me to get in tune with this

24 hour living. It’s so simple….Well,just do

the right things for 24 hours and the miracle

happens.

Recently, I came across a shor piece about a

new beginning. It goes like this……….

This is the beginning of a new day.You have

been given this day to use as you will. Beware,

you can waste it or you can use it for good. What

you do today is important you are exchanging

it for a day of your life. When tomorrow comes,

this day will be gone forever and when it comes

in its place is whatever[something] you left

behind,so let it be something good……..

Author unknown  Thanks to him anyway.

least fleas. until next time,

spirit when I mentioned The Holy Spirit.I

will slow down and be more careful and more

professional. Thanks for your patience and

support……Back to the next 24 hours…John
