Bump In The Road

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Somehow I developed a hernia in my diaphram

and my intestine came through and is playing tag

with my heart. It sounds worst than it is. My

symptons are shortness of breath and sometimes

whe I start to eat my food just won’t go down.

Enough of that…I am getting a repair job

early wednesday morning so I am posting one

day early. If I miss a couple of post you will know

where I am. Thanks for your understanding and

support. Also I can use all the prayers I can get.

I am just getting a tune up…Hell I am good for at

least 100,000 miles. Thanks again.

The fish story

Give  me a fish and I will have a meal

Teach me   to fish and I can eat for life

Author unknown…appreciated anyway…

Moral…Tell me something and I will forget

most of it.

Show me something and I will remember

some of it.

Envolve  me with something and I will learn

to do it.

Isn’t it great to have 24 hours…Use them

wisely….Until next time…John

24 Hour Freedom

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

I recently read a quote written by a lady. Her

name is Harriet Rubin. The quote went like this.

Freedom is actually a bigger game than power.

Power is about what we can control. Freedom is

about what we can unleash.

I agree with her.In my 24 hour world,power is

what, who, and how I can control. It is what I

want,when I want it. Sometimes I don’t even

stop to rhink of other.Yes,I do have the freedom

to do what I want, when I want to as long as I

don’t hurt others.Quite simply put by my third

grade teacher..You have the right and freedom

to walk down any street and swing your arm in

any direction. Your freedom stops when you

hit someone else.

Freedom is being able to express our ideas,

dreams and creativity…Right or Wrong…

Whatever that may be.Please enjoy your next

24 hours.

On this Memorial Day weekend  I express a

warm Thanks to all the men and women  who

are serving now and to all who have served,

and to those who have given their lives that

we may still enjoy this wonderful thing called

Freedom. Many, Many Thanks to you……

                         GOD BLESS AMERCIA

Until next time……….John

24 Hour Incompletes

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

It recently came to my attention that our brain

can overload on things that we do not finish. If

we start projects an leave them undone or

incomplete and the move to something else, our

brain actually clogs up and we loose our ability

to function the way we should. Take the next

1 hour and focus one what  you need to finish.

I can only tell you about me. I am no different

and need lots of improvement in this area. It

could take many 24 hours for me to see the

improvent I need.

Remember… Miracles do happen, so take life

24hours at a time and clear the clutter.   …

………Until next time John

Daily Reminder

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

I am reminded this morning just how fragile

our life is. I am on my way this morning to a

furneral of a dear friend. She was very

healthy until last week. A couple of days with

a virus and apparently her heart just could

not handle it. Her husband found her on the floor

and she could not be revived. Enough of that.

It is a reminder of just hour precious this life

is and just how quickly it is gone. Please use it

wisely. 24 hours at a time. Until next time…

Forgive Them Anyway

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

People are often unreasonable, illogical,and

self-centered. Forgive then anyway.

Earlier this weekI gave the eight points that

Mother Teresa used to keep clutter from her

daily life. They were called The Paradoxical

Commandments and were written by

Kent M. Keith a student at  Harvard.

Today we will take the first one and just kick

it around. Then each week we will do the same

for each one of them.

When I take a good look in a mirrow I see

someone who can be unreasonable. illogical,

and certainly self-centered.In order to get past

my denial I have to be completly honest with

myself. Of course I am not all of these things

all of the time. No one is. It just depends on

circumstances, timing, and other people that

I am in contact with. I try each day to cut these

character defects to as low as I can. I can only

do this  by my thoughts. I can be aware of  this

and change my thinking one small bite at a time.

How does one eat an elephant. One Bite At A

Time. It is doable 24hours at a time.

Now let us look at the flip side…Remember

Yen and Yang…Forgive Them Anyway.

It is almost impossibe to forgive some wrongs.

That to can be done. You will find that when

you forgive someone of anything it actually

clears your mind.It is great if this can be for

both parties. However  you main objective

here is to clear the clutter from your mind.

Keep in mind that you mut be honest and sincere

when you do this.

Sometime we are programed to wallow in it.

Besides it is eaiser to hold on to them and build

resentments and keep wallowing in them.

Please take the time to learn how to forgive

others each day and you will begin to live on

a spiritual plain. No one is perfect and nobody

expects you to be. Try living the next 1 hour and

the next 24 hours without any clutter…….

Until next time…John

Self-Confidence

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Either you have it oryou don’t. It is possible to

loose it.

People-pleasers

Approval-seekers

Co-dependants

All three of these personality types have chaos,

inter-turmoil,depression,and addictions of

some kind.Thes three things can destroy persons

self-confidence.

Fear to speak up for ones self becomes clear. It

is not for someone else to read your mind.

Failure to listen. Some people become so

obsessed over minor things that they fail to

to get a clear picture of reality. What is right

or what is not? There is only one thing worse

than being blind and that is seeing things that

don’t exist.

Failure to grow up.Because of life’s  problems

some people grow up way to fast. They act like

40 year olds at age 15. When there mind trys

to adjust they loose  something. At 40 they

want to be 15 again. Not to good to back pedal.

Confidence is a natural process, but you need to

build it  on a rock solid foundation,24 hours

at a time. Besides if you build it 1% each day,

by the end of the year will be 365% stronger.

Until next time…You guessed it …John

Eight Points

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

I am listing eight points that hung on the wall

of Mother Teresa. They were writtwn by

Kent M. keith while he was a student at

Harvard University. These eight points can be

found in a book titled,”There is a Spiritual

Solution to Every Problem,aurthored by

Wayne W. Dyer.

EIGHT POINTS TO DECONTAMINATE YOUR

MIND OF CLUTTER

One…People are often unreasonable,illogical.

and self-centered. Forgive the anyway.

Two…If you are kind, people may accuse you

of selfesh, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

Three…If you are successful, you will win some

false friends and some true enemies. Suscceed

anyway.

Four… If you are honest and frank, people may

cheat you.Be honest and frank anyway.

Five…What you spend years building,someone

may destroy overnight. Build anyway.

Six…If you find serenity and happiness, people

will be jealous. Be happy anyway.

Seven…The good you do today, people will often

forget tomorrow. Do good anyway.

Eight…Give the world the best you have, and it

will never be enough. Give the world the best

you have anyway.

Please study the commandments and use them

to build a good life 24hours each day. …..until

next time…You guessed it…John

Humor

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Normally I don’t post on Mondays but I could

not resist. I have to share this with the team.

A group of students filed in a Catholic school

cafiteria. At the end one table was a tray filled

with apples. The Nun in charge had written a

note…Apples  Take only one  God Is Watching.

At the orher end of the table was  a large pile

of chocolate cookies and a student had left a

note….Take as many as you want.   God is

watching the apples…..Author unknown but

appreciated just the same.Have a great24 hours

Until next time…John

THE PLAIN TRUTH

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I recently posted that I would explain the

concept of the 24 hour team. It is a dream that

I can live a better life if I focus on doing what

is right 24hours at a time and you can too.By

you ,I mean anyone out there who really needs

to adjust a few things. There are no rules and

nobody is obligated in any way.In a sense a

group of followers who choose to come together

for their betterment and the betterment of others.

The common goal is to live a good life and help

others 24 hours at a time.

How do we do this?

W.I.I. I.F. M……What is in it for me?

Why would I want to be a part of this?

I will answer these questions as we progress.

For this noment, the next minute, and  the next

hour, and of course, the next 24 hours be sharp

and enjoy life as it unfolds…Until next time….

Friday’s Special

Friday, May 8th, 2009

On a recent comment someone ask what my

schedule is for posting. I post on Sunday and

Wednesday on a regular schedule and have had

a mixed bag on Friday. My content has been

mixed on Fridays also. I have posted some

humor, some stories,a rant or two and missed

a couple of post on Fridays. I need you help on

this, please let me know what you would like on

Fridays. It is not that I am lazy, just retired and

sometimes I use Friday to procrastinate a little.

Use this moment, this hour, and of course the

next 24hours to improve your wellbeing.Do

something good for someone else and don’t

tell another Soul.

Next Friday I will post on what the 24 hour tean

really is…..Until next time…John
