Adaptive Behaviors

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Can you adapt to life on lifes terms? Can you

make changes when necessary?

Flexibality….Being able to change your

beliefs and actions to comply with new

circumstances.

Sometimes quickly somestimes slowly but

always able to adjust.People, things, and

situtations around us are always changing.

Being able to adjust and cope is most important.

Don”t turn out like concrete, all mixed up and

hard as a rock.

5 ways you can deal with change

One. Take time to think things through.Look at

all sides. Be honest with yourself. Quick

decisions and misinterpitations can be killers.

Two.Ask yourself,” How will this affect me and

my family”. What are the consequences?

Three. Be open to  learning all you can about

how you can adapt.

Four. Look for the blessing it brings.

Five. Does this fall in line with my core values?

Is it healthy for me?

Life is worthwhile if ylearn to give…..Giving

always opens the door to recieving.

You can change yourself for the better if only

you learn to change other things for the better.

Remember… courage does not always roar

loudly but is sometimes a quiet voice inside us

that says… Try again.

Please use  your next 24 hours to face changes

you need to address…Seek out and study

self improvement. Change your life one day at

a time. Until next time… You guess it…John

24 Hours of Flow

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Have you ever noticed a small child. He or

she can hold a ball in his hands, let it go, and

then chase it with great ease.He is enjoying

it and loving every monent of it. It is something

he want to do. He become so content doing it

that he is unaware of others around him and

can do it for hours.

It is important that we pick something we want

to do and passionate about. Something we enjoy

doing. We will enjoy each day and also begin to

enjoy life on lifes terms. It is called getting into

flow and enjoying what you are doing. Life just

takes on a good and pleasant meaning.

Sometines we get into a job situtation that we

really don’t like and the form a mindset that it

is our job and we need the pay check so here we

are and that settles it.

Each time the kid lost he ball he ran after it

again….Remember you can always change

for the better.

A little more about me.

I worked in a shipyard for years. I saw myself

an a situtation that paid the bills and kidded

myself that things were just great. I told myself

I enjoyed welding and in my on way I guess I

did at the time. I also ignored he fact that it was

unhealthy. At an early age I had to leave the

shipyard with lung problems. Doctors said I

needed to get away from smoke and metal

dust. My health improved and I worked in

many jobs over the next few years. I tried to

like everything. I was only kidding myself .

My jobs were in sales  and construction. My

last job was driving an airport shuttle van. I

liked talking to people so I thought I had found

the job of my life. Some good ….. More bad…

low pay…based along with your tips… Hours

based on flights schedules, lots of down time

…No holidays with your family.

Can you imagine sticking with  that for the next

ten years. For some reason I did.

No plan ,no real direction,  and just letting life

pass me by. The point I  want to get across is

that life is short. I want you to see this picture .

Focus on improving your life each day…One Day

At A Time. Find your Dream and follow the Flow.

.

you will be glad you did. Until Next Time . John

24 Hour Laugh

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

It is time for a little humor and boy can I relate

to this. You know today that they actually

place cameras to catch speeders and also at

red lights to keep people honest.

A friend of mind about my age (I will be70)

next month passed one and saw a flash. He

checked his speed and determined that he

was only going 60 miles per hour in a 65 zone.

He goes around the block and passes the camera

only going 30 miles per hour and it flashed

again. really bothered he makes the block and

passes the camera at 10 miles per hour. To his

suprise it flashed again.

Well that is it….If they send me a ticket I will

fight it. That camera is definately not working

right.

The very next month he did recieve 3 tickets

in the mail. All for No Seat Belt…

This humor was first told on i-cop and the

driver got 5 tickets. Drive safely and fit this into

your next 24 hours.Until next time…..John

Responsible

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

You can love and care for others but do not

take over responsibility for them.

When loving others we have to accept it is

their own treatment of themselves and

thier own misguided belief that cause them pain

in the first place.

It is not our choices that cause the pain. Let

them shoulder that responsibility.

Use the next 24 hours to encourage your

loved ones to grow past those belifs and become

responsible again. You guessed it….Until next

time….. John

Just for fun….You may be a Redneck if you

really believe that AAA is for alcoholics.

Self_Esteem

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Your self-esteem is it high or low.People who

think of themselves and then describe

themselves as having high self-esteem  are

usually trying to convience themselves that

have it and there is nothing wrong with

them. Strange as it may seem they are the ones

with esteem problems and belief problems.

All of them including myself have these kind of

problems. They feel that they can”t do things

and are unwilling to try.Low self-esteem

beliefs cover,I can’t, I am not worthy, I am

not worth much, It is useless to try.

People who have a problem with alcohol or

drugs always claim that they have no such

problem. The alcohol or drugs are really just

a cover up. Cure the self-esteem problem and

the other two  just go away.

Confidence seems to be the answer. I

encourage parents to focus one building

confidence in children. Most parents and

even grandparents  are too busy and fail

to reconize low self-esteem in the kids.

Please become aware that this is a growing

problem and use as manty24hours as you

can to help the kids.

Fact…

If a person has enough  confidence and a high

enough self-esteem to refuse drugs and alcohol

in the first place the dealer would soon be

out of business.

You Guessed It…. Have a great 24 hours…

Until next time…..John

Affirmations

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

From time to time I have treated affrimations

and goal setting the same. I have used the both

but with the passage of a little time they get

lost and fade away. I know how important they

really are and that I would be much better and  if

I had stuck with them.Enough of that…We will

cover goal setting another day.

Recently while I was laid up after my operation

I came across a long list of affirmations that do

relate to health and getting well. They were

written by Dr. Louis P. Bauer Ph.D. in an

interesting little book…. the name is……..

A Journey to Inter Healing

This can apply to physical as well as mental.

I will share just a few with you. Copy them and

read them at least  twice a day, when youfirst get

up and before you go to sleep. Let me know what

you think of them.

Faith, expectations, and determination can

change your life and your health.

My body and mind were created by God to

heal itself from within.

All things are possible through this Creator.

I want to live the rest of my life with a strong

bodt and a clear mind.

Think about each of these affirmations. Copy

them and read them at least twice a day. Each

morning when you wake up and each night

before you go to sleep…..Have a wonderful

day. Enjoy your next 24 hours and make

sure they count… You guessed it…Until next

Time…..John

Wise Lady

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

A wise woman;s stone…..A wise woman was

traveling in the mountains and found a very

precious stone is a stream. The next day she

met another traveler who was hungury, so she

opened her bag to share her food with him. The

traveler saw rhe stone and then ask her for it.

The traveler left with the stone and was

rejoicing to himself because he knew the

value of the stone and that it would make him

rich and give his security for a lifetime.

After a few days he returned to the woman

and gave the stone back.”Ihave been thinking,” he

said,”I want you to know how valuable this

stone is. I give it back to you and hope you can

give me something more valuable and precious.

Please share with me what it is inside you that

enabled you  to give me the stone without

hesitation.”

The Author is Unknown.. The article can be

found at inspirition peak….Have 24 hours

of fun….Until Next Time…..John

Willpower

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Goal setting,affrimations,serious reading and

pipe dreaming all fit into my picture. The ony

thing wrong is that I don’t seem to get it right.

I don’t stick with goals. Affrimations do not

last and I procrastinate and don”t take action.

That seems to be the natural thing.

My conditiong as a youngester and now my

unwillingness to change brings me back to

square one. Just Play It Safe.

Safe is really not a bad place but definately has

two sides.Lets look a financial for now.

One.Don’t spend more than you earn.

Two. If you get lazy and don’t work or don”t

use your brains to build a business to build

your nestegg then it is all on you. No one else

is at fault. The trouble is yours.

When I had an alcohol problem and was told that

alcoholism was a disease,I used my mindset

to inform everyone that all I had to do was to

use willpower. The results were not good at

all…Back to square one again and again and

even again.

If you don’t belive alcoholism is a serious

disease, then by all means the next time you

get a case of diearraha…Just Use Willpower.

Somehow it all fits into 24hours one day at a

time. until next time….John

willpower. Of course the results were not good,

back to square one again and again.

Positive 24 Hours

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

I don’t mean to sound like I am preaching to

you.I do know for sure thst when I get on this

negative wagon,it becomes easy to criticize

and blame others. Most folks do this without

even thinking about it. A larger number of us

just love to wallow in it. The more we do it,

the more we feel good about ourselves.

These ar all false beliefs. False beliefs always

seem to be the norm.

Positive beliefs and positive attitudes go hand

in hand. Almost any problem will improve

when we focus on the positive in the present.

Remember the positive light  can fix most

problems and most of the other problsms

will just fade  away if we focus on the present.

Take time to focus on the Now and take time

to enjoy your next 24 hours. You will learn to

Love it….. Until next time….. John
